The Fall 2000 ACRL-LA/LUC Joint Conference was held October 12-13, 2000 at Nunez Community College in Chalmette, Louisiana.
The ACRL-LA Conference officially began Thursday morning, October 12, 2000. Tom Sanville, Director of OhioLINK, was the special guest speaker. His presence was made possible by a generous grant from NASIG (North America Serials Interest Group). Mr. Sanville spoke about the Ohio consortium and his views of what the future holds for libraries.
The LUC Conference began with luncheon on Thursday and ran through Friday morning. LUC offered several breakout sessions on general interest topics. The program was designed to appeal to all academic library staffs with topics of interest to large and small institutions, public service and technical service workers, community colleges and research universities.
Library system vendors, Endeavor, ExLibris, III, and Sirsi were available for demonstrations and information throughout both conferences.
