ACRL-LA Chapter members have received a ballot by email. Voting remains open until July 1st. Candidate bios are below.

The election ends Friday, June 30, 2023.

The candidates for Vice President/President-Elect are Elizabeth Allen (Louisiana State University) and Daniel DuPont (Delgado Community College). The candidates for Treasurer are Lauren Lay (Louisiana State University) and Johannah White (University of New Orleans).

Elizabeth Allen

Assistant Librarian - Humanities and Social Sciences

Louisiana State University Libraries

Elizabeth Allen is a first year Research and Instruction librarian at LSU Libraries with five years of academic library experience in Interlibrary Loan. She also has one year of archival experience in a small government archive.

Daniel DuPont

Librarian

Delgado Community College

Daniel DuPont is a Librarian at Delgado Community College in New Orleans. They are currently serving as ACRL-LA Treasurer and previously served as chair of the NOLA Information Literacy Collective. Daniel is excited at the opportunity to further serve their fellow Louisiana academic librarians on the ACRL-LA Board.

Lauren Lay

Assistant Librarian - Mass Communication
Louisiana State University Libraries

Lauren Lay is a native of Oklahoma and recent Louisiana transplant. While studying mass communication during undergrad, she was a writer and editor for Tulsa Community College’s student paper, as well as an intern for Rogers State University’s college radio station. Before continuing her education in librarianship, Lauren also worked as a writer for a local advertising agency in Oklahoma. She now uses her educational and professional experience to assist the research and instruction needs of LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication

Johannah White

Information Literacy Librarian

University of New Orleans

Johannah White is currently the Information Literacy librarian at the University of New Orleans. A graduate of the ACRL Immersion program, she has been teaching since 2007. After getting involved with advocating for OER with students and faculty in 2018, she completed the graduated from the SPARC Open Education Leadership program in 2019. Her OER resume includes curating materials for a Louisiana-specific instance of the OER Commons which debuted 2019; as project manager for a fully open course creation effort (English Comp II) in 2021-2022 and again in 2022-2023 for Developmental Psychology for LOUIS. She also supported a dozen faculty projects at Xavier University of Louisiana (the only Roman Catholic HBCU), Baton Rouge Community College, and at the University of New Orleans.
